Weight Room


"The goal of the weight room/fitness center is to provide a safe, clean, and welcoming atmosphere for our student athletes to practice proper strength training and conditioning techniques designed to help them excel in the activities offered here as well as to promote healthy lifestyle choices for our entire student body and our community as a whole."

2017 Schedule:

The weight room is open for general use Monday through Friday form 7:00 am-8:00 am when school is in session. If school is out or is running two hours late the weight room is not open in the morning. After school the weight room is reserved for student athletes under the supervision and direction of their coaches and/or the athletic trainer. Open training is available by appointment with Mr.Duberowski, Mr. Felt, Mr. Johnson or another certified supervisor.

Under direction of the board of education and administration, PPHS observes a policy in which no one is allowed in the weight room at any time, under any circumstances without the supervision of a certified supervisor.  Persons interested in becoming a supervisor must be approved by the district,  age 18 or older, and complete the training and safety program.

The fitness center is an asset to our community and its members.  Students will receive priority if space or time are in question.  In addition the the fitness center the school also has quality programs such as P90X, Insanity, and Zumba available fro training.

Safety is Priority #1

  • All Participants must observe and demonstrate proper lifting and training techniques.
  • Spotters, belts, and collars to be used where appropriate.
  • The school does not advocate any use of any substances intended to supplement training programs.
    • Much is unknown about the long term effects of many supplements. Even legal supplements can cause bodily harm when misused or abused.
